Hwy 52 Lafayette Bridge construction open house set May 19
at Wellstone Center in St. Paul
Meeting provides information on bridge replacement
ROSEVILLE, Minn. –Mn/DOT invites the public to learn about construction work and scheduling for the Hwy 52 Lafayette bridge project at a May 19 open house in St. Paul. Drop-in office hours are scheduled for Thursday, May 19, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Paul and Sheila Wellstone Center for Community Building, 179 Robie Street East in St. Paul.
Preliminary construction work on the Lafayette Bridge began in early January. The existing bridge spanning the Mississippi River east of downtown St. Paul is a steel plate girder structure that opened to traffic in 1968. Completion of the new bridges and adjacent work is scheduled in 2014.
