Overnight southbound Hwy 169 lane closure scheduled for May 6

ST. PAUL, Minn. —Motorists on southbound Hwy 169 in Maple Grove will experience delays as the right lane closes at Hwy 610 at 8 p.m. Friday, May 6.

Part of the Hwy 610 addition project, the lane closure is needed as crews pave the roadway. The lane will reopen by 5 a.m. Saturday, May 7.

The new Hwy 610 alignment includes nearly three miles of four-lane highway between Hwy 169 in Brooklyn Park and County Road 81 in Maple Grove. The project includes two interchanges, three overpasses, a pedestrian bridge and noisewalls. Construction is scheduled to be complete in July 2011 and will improve mobility for northwestern Twin Cities motorists. For more information on the Hwy 610 project, call the project information line at 1-866-610-5480, or visit the project page at http://www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/projects/610/.

Mn/DOT reminds motorists to slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.  For real-time traveler information anywhere in Minnesota visit www.511mn.org.
