Hwy 13/101 intersection closures begin next week
Routes to local roads and business districts changing
Roseville, Minn. — Motorists will use new routes to access local roads and businesses in Savage starting next week as several at-grade intersections change and traffic is directed along new, permanent routes that will allow safer access to surface roadways.
As early as Wednesday, June 1 the four following intersections will be permanently modified on Hwy 13/101:
The intersections at Highway 13 and Louisiana Avenue, and Highway 13 and Rhode Island Avenue will close permanently. Access to businesses fronting Highway 13 will move east, to Dakota Avenue, and west, to Highway 13 South and 126th Street.
The eastbound Highway 101 U-turn will also close permanently.
Zinran Avenue will be restricted to right-turn only from eastbound Highway 101. Motorists traveling Highway 13/101 may access Zinran Avenue as well as local businesses by using southbound Highway 13 to 126th Street.
The closures are part of the new Highway 13/101 interchange. When complete, the new interchange will improve safety and mobility by eliminating an at-grade stoplight for east-west traffic while maintaining access to local businesses through safer connections to the local frontage road system. The project is scheduled to be complete in summer 2012.
