Traffic switch slated this afternoon on Anoka County Road 14 at I-35E in Lino Lakes

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – With paving complete on the eastbound lanes of Anoka County Road 14 at I-35E in Lino Lakes, crews will switch eastbound traffic from the westbound lanes onto the new pavement this afternoon.  When the switch is complete, traffic will be a single lane in each direction between 20th Avenue in Centerville and Otter Lake Road in Lino Lakes.  The roadway will remain a single lane in each direction for the next several weeks for median construction.

At the same time, 21st Avenue will reopen to traffic.  The new intersection is a right-turn only from eastbound County Road 14 and all traffic at local businesses will have to use Northern Lights Boulevard to return to County Road 14.  Traffic at each end of the new bridges will be restricted by a four-way flashing red light until work is completed.  The new signal system at Northern Lights Boulevard and the ramps to southbound I-35E will begin operations when the traffic switch is complete.

The Anoka County Road 14 bridge project includes construction of two new bridges to carry traffic across I-35E along with new freeway entrance and exit ramps.  Additional improvements include three new traffic signals and turn lanes on County Road 14 along with additional lanes and a center median. When completed in July 2011, the project will improve safety and reduce congestion for motorists traveling between the interstate and County Road 14.
