Updated: Northbound Hwy 169 closures to occur May 20-21

Traffic switch on ramp from westbound Hwy 610 to southbound Hwy 169 scheduled for May 19

ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Motorists will encounter delays and a detour at 10 p.m. Friday, May 20 when northbound Hwy 169 between Hwy 610 and 101st Avenue closes.

Lane closures will begin at 8 p.m. on Friday. During the full closure motorists will be detoured east on Hwy 610 to West Broadway Avenue/County Road 103, north to 109th Avenue and west to Hwy 169.

Northbound Hwy 169 will reopen by 5 p.m. Saturday, May 21. The closure is necessary as crews work on the new interchange at Hwy 610 and Hwy 169.

The ramp from westbound Hwy 610 to northbound Hwy 169 will remain open.

In addition, a traffic switch on the exit ramp from westbound Hwy 610 to southbound Hwy 169 is scheduled for overnight Thursday, May 19. Motorists will be rerouted from the current right exit ramp onto a new temporary left exit ramp through early July as crews continue construction of the new interchange.

The new Hwy 610 alignment includes nearly three miles of four-lane Hwy between Hwy 169 in Brooklyn Park and County Road 81 in Maple Grove. Construction is scheduled to be complete in July 2011.
