ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will experience delays at the Highway 169/Bren Road interchange in Minnetonka and Edina as a project to improve the interchange begins Monday, April 11.
The Bren Road Bridge spanning Highway 169 is anticipated to close in June for deck replacement and reopen in fall 2011. Short-term local road closures and ramp closures at the interchange also will occur throughout the project. Weekend lane closures on Highway 169 will occur periodically during the project as well.
The project will add various through lanes and turn lanes in order to increase the capacity of the interchange, reducing congestion and allowing for future expansion of the Opus business park. The project is part of Mn/DOT’s Innovative Finance Program and includes funding from both public and private resources.
Additional pedestrian sidewalks and trails and landscaping will also be included as part of the project.
