Hwy 41 in Chaska reopened
Second river crest may force second road closure
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists in the southwestern Twin Cities Metro Area will get a bit of relief as Mn/DOT has reopened both directions of Hwy 41 spanning the Minnesota River in Chaska.
In order to expedite opening the roadway, crews were able to patch the pavement and make initial repairs.
If a second Minnesota River crest encroaches the roadway, the road will again be closed.
Additional safety devices have been placed along the roadway until non-critical, off-roadway repairs can be made later, after floodwaters from the Minnesota River recede over the longer term.
Mn/DOT reminds motorists to proceed with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
The roadway had been closed since March 23 between north of Hwy 169 in Chaska and Flying Cloud Drive.
