Westbound 85th Avenue lane closure in Brooklyn Park begins May 2
Hwy 169 Triangle project gears back up for final months of construction
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists can expect delays on westbound 85th Avenue/Hennepin County Road 109 beginning 9 a.m. Monday, May 2 as the roadway is reduced to a single lane.
The lane closure will be in place until 3 p.m. Friday, May 6 (weather permitting). The closure is needed as crews work on medians, curbs and gutters as part of the Hwy 169 Triangle project.
As the Hwy 169 Triangle project gears back up this spring, motorists can expect lane closures on Hwy 169, Hennepin County Road 81 and 85th Avenue as needed for construction activities. No full closures are expected.
The Hwy 169 Triangle project rebuilds the triangle-shaped area created by Hwy 169, Hennepin County Road 81 and 85th Avenue (Hennepin County Road 109) in Brooklyn Park and Osseo. The three roadways constituted one of the most congested signalized intersections in the Twin Cities Metropolitan area. Two nearby railroad crossings added to congestion and delays.
When completed by the end of July 2011, the project will have upgraded the condition of the highways, improved safety, reduced congestion and increased capacity.
