Zachary Lane closure begins May 2 in Maple Grove

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists in Maple Grove will experience delays and a detour as Zachary Lane closes between 98th Avenue and just south of 95th Place early Monday, May 2.

A detour will be posted for motorists:

The closure is needed as crews construct two roundabouts, which will provide access to the new Hwy 610. The roadway will reopen in early July 2011.

Motorist and pedestrian access to the 96th Avenue Park and Ride, as well as local businesses, will be maintained at all times at the south end of the closure. For pedestrian detour information, please visit the project website.

The new Hwy 610 alignment includes nearly three miles of four-lane highway between Hwy 169 in Brooklyn Park and County Road 81 in Maple Grove. The project includes two interchanges, three overpasses, a pedestrian bridge and noisewalls. Construction is scheduled to be complete in July 2011 and will improve mobility for northwestern Twin Cities motorists. For more information on the Hwy 610 project, call the project information line at 1-866-610-5480, or visit the project page at http://www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/projects/610/.

Mn/DOT reminds motorists to slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.  For real-time traveler information anywhere in Minnesota visit www.511mn.org.
