I-35 resurfacing project begins April 18 in Chisago County
Most of the work on this project will be done during off-peak times
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Mn/DOT will begin a resurfacing project on I-35 between one mile north of Hwy 8 near Forest Lake and Hwy 95 in North Branch on April 18. The project is scheduled to be completed in July 2011.
Most of the work that requires lane restrictions and ramp closures will be done during off-peak times.
The project also includes fencing repairs and new pedestrian ramps and accessible pedestrian signals.
This project will require lane closures; however, southbound lane closures will be prohibited weekdays between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m., while northbound lane closures will be prohibited weekdays between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Lane closures will not be allowed weekends, except for northbound lane restrictions can start after 8 p.m., Sunday evenings.
When ramps are closed, detours will be posted.
Existing pavement in the project area has reached the end of its expected life cycle. When completed this resurfaced section of I-35 will be smoother, quieter and safer.
