I-394, Hwy 55 and Hwy 7 traffic signal and management system upgrades begin March 7
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists should use extra caution while driving on various highways in Hennepin County as a project to upgrade the traffic control signal and traffic management systems begins Monday, March 7.
Upgrades will occur on
- I-394 between Park Place Blvd./Xenia Ave. and Central Ave./County Rd. 101
- Hwy 55 between Theodore Wirth Pkwy and Arrowhead Dr.
- Hwy 7 between Ottawa Ave. S. and Hazeltine Blvd/Hwy 41
Crews will typically work from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, weather permitting. No lane closures are expected, but shoulder closures will occur throughout the project as needed.
The purpose of the project is to upgrade traffic signal communications and devices that optimize traffic flow and congestion relief, and install new cameras and electronic message signs for enhanced incident management. The entire project is expected to be completed by Oct. 1, 2011.
