Stillwater Lift Bridge undergoing testing today
Crews preparing for possible closure due to flooding

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists in the Stillwater area may experience brief delays today as Mn/DOT crews raise and lower the Stillwater Lift Bridge spanning the St. Croix River beginning at approximately 1:15 p.m.

The lift section of the bridge has not been raised since last fall, at the end of boating season http://www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/projects/liftbridge/pdfs/bridge_schedule.pdf.

Mn/DOT maintenance crews, including crews from Mn/DOT’s electrical service section, must test to ensure the lift section and lift motor are fully functional in advance of a possible closure due to flooding.

The lift test will be completed by 3 p.m. Tuesday. Motorists crossing the river may be delayed by 10 minutes at a time during the tests.
