Hwy 169 closures to occur overnight Oct. 11-12
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter delays and a detour during overnight closures Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 11 and 12, on Hwy 169 between Hwy 610 and 101st Avenue in Brooklyn Park.
Southbound Hwy 169 will close beginning at 10 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 11. Motorists will be detoured east on 109th Avenue to County Road 103/West Broadway Avenue; south to County Road 30; and west to Hwy 169.
Northbound Hwy 169 will close beginning at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12. Motorists will be detoured east on Hwy 610 to West Broadway Avenue/County Road 103; north to 109th Avenue; and west to Hwy 169.
Hwy 169 will re-open by 5 a.m. each day following the closures. The closures are needed so crews can work on the new Hwy 610 bridge spanning Hwy 169.
The new Hwy 610 alignment includes nearly three miles of four-lane highway from Hwy 169 in Brooklyn Park to County Road 81 in Maple Grove. The project includes two interchanges, three overpasses, a pedestrian bridge and noisewalls. Construction is scheduled to be complete in July 2011 and will improve mobility for northwestern Twin Cities travelers. For more information on the Hwy 610 project, call the project information line at 1-866-610-5480, or visit the project page at http://www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/projects/610/.
Mn/DOT reminds motorists to slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones. For real-time traveler information anywhere in Minnesota visit www.511mn.org or dial 5-1-1.
