Highway 55 maintenance work continues Oct. 8
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will experience delays in both directions of Highway 55/Olson Memorial Highway in Golden Valley as CenterPoint Energy crews continue maintenance work at the Winnetka Avenue intersection. The second stage of these closures begins at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8.
During this second stage, the following closures and detours will take place:
- Eastbound and westbound Highway 55 will be reduced to a single lane at the intersection
- Northbound and southbound Winnetka Avenue will be reduced to a single lane at the intersection
- The turn lanes from eastbound Highway 55 to northbound Winnetka Avenue will be closed
- Detour: Continue eastbound on Highway 55 to northbound Rhode Island Avenue, to westbound Golden Valley Road and then to northbound Winnetka Avenue
- The turn lanes from westbound Highway 55 to southbound Winnetka Avenue will be closed
- Detour: Continue westbound on Highway 55 to the Highway 169 interchange, use the loops to access eastbound Highway 55 and then southbound Winnetka Avenue
- Turn lane from northbound Winnetka Avenue to westbound Highway 55 will be closed
- Detour: Continue northbound on Winnetka Avenue to westbound Golden Valley Road, to southbound Wisconsin Avenue and then to westbound Highway 55
- Turn lane from southbound Winnetka Avenue to eastbound Highway 55 will be closed
- Detour: Eastbound Golden Valley Road to southbound Rhode Island Avenue and then to eastbound Highway 55
The second stage is expected to last until late October. The work is part of a maintenance project to replace underground pipe in the area.
