Public invited to Highway 12 railroad bridge ribbon cutting ceremony Oct. 22
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Everyone interested in celebrating completion of the Highway 12 Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad Bridge reconstruction project is invited to a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, Oct. 22.
The ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. at 5901 Highway 12 in Maple Plain, in the parking lot of Day Distributing. The program includes speeches from local dignitaries and a ribbon cutting.
In case of inclement weather the ceremony will be held inside the building of Day Distributing.
The purpose of the project is to replace the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad bridge spanning Highway 12 and reconstruct a one-mile portion of Highway 12 in Maple Plain and Independence. The new bridge will provide the necessary vertical clearance and improve the sight distance through the bridge, improving safety for motorists.
