I-35W ramp to westbound Hwy 62 scheduled to close Oct. 15-22
Motorists will encounter a detour and increased congestion on metro area roadways when the ramp from northbound Interstate 35W to westbound Highway 62 closes at 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15.
The ramp will re-open Friday evening, Oct. 22. Highway 62 and I-35W will remain open during the closure, and northbound Highway 121 motorists will also be able to access 58th Street/Lyndale Avenue.
As part of the I-35W/Highway 62 Crosstown reconstruction project, the closure is necessary as crews demolish the current Highway 121 bypass and route motorists to the permanent “loop” ramp to westbound Highway 62.
Motorists should follow the posted detours during the closure:
- For westbound Highway 62: Northbound I-35W to westbound I-494 to northbound Highway 100.
- For 58th Street: Exit at 66th Street; eastbound 66th Street to northbound Lyndale Avenue.
