Reminder – New Hwy 61 Hastings Bridge groundbreaking and open house planned for Sept. 22
Roseville, Minn. — A groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the start of construction of the new Hwy 61 Hastings Bridge will be held at Levee Park beginning at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22.
A public open house will follow the groundbreaking ceremony. The open house will be held at Hastings City Hall, 101 4th St. East, between noon and 6:30 p.m.
Everyone attending the public open house will be able to:
- View and provide input the latest visual and architectural elements of the bridge, including the LED lighting and pier designs
- Meet Craig David, the artist who will design and build the public art wall mural in the Plaza Area beneath the bridge, and share ideas on what might be included in the project’s public art
- Meet project staff, provide comments and feedback, and get questions answered directly from the engineers, designers, architect and project leaders working on the project
- See a detailed project layout
- Learn about the traffic management plan for the project, including expected traffic configurations during construction
Levee Park is located approximately two blocks north of Hastings City Hall near the site of the original Hastings Spiral Bridge.
