Northbound I-35W closure scheduled for May 14-17
Closure also affects eastbound, westbound Hwy 62 to northbound I-35W
Motorists will encounter detours and increased congestion on metro area roadways when northbound Interstate 35W closes at Highway 62 at 10 p.m. Friday, May 14.
Northbound I-35W will re-open by 5 a.m. Monday, May 17.
In addition, the ramps from eastbound and westbound Highway 62 to northbound I-35W will close for the same duration.
Motorists should follow the posted detour routes during the closures:
- Westbound Highway 62/Northbound I-35W: Westbound Highway 62 to northbound Highway 100 to eastbound I-394
- Eastbound Highway 62: Northbound Cedar Avenue to westbound Highway 62 to northbound Highway 100 to eastbound I-394
- Southbound I-35W and Highway 62 will remain open during the weekend closure.
The closure is necessary as crews continue storm sewer installation at the east junction of I-35W and Highway 62.
