Westbound Highway 62 lane restrictions extended through March 17

ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Motorists will continue to encounter delays on metro area roadways as daily lane restrictions along westbound Highway 62 continue through Wednesday, March 17 due to inclement weather preventing sheet piling work along Highway 62.

The left lane of westbound Highway 62 will close at the western junction of I-35W from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 13.  Both lanes of Highway 62 will remain open Sunday, March 14.

The left lane of Hwy 62 will continue to close daily at the western junction of I-35W at 9 a.m. Monday, March 15 through Wednesday, March 17.

The left lane of Highway 62 will open by 3 p.m. each day of the closures.

The Highway 121 “loop” ramp to westbound Highway 62 and the ramp from westbound Highway 62 to southbound I-35W will remain open during the closures.

Part of the I-35W/Highway 62 Crosstown reconstruction project, the lane reduction is needed for sheet piling work along westbound Highway 62.  The work is being done during the daytime hours, rather than at night, to limit nighttime noise activity.

For more information on the I-35W/Highway 62 Crosstown reconstruction project, visit www.mndot.gov or call the Crosstown Project hotline at 1-866-743-6590 or send an e-mail to crosstown@rranow.com.

Mn/DOT reminds motorists to slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones. For statewide traffic, construction and travel information visit www.511mn.org or call 511 or log onto www.mndot.gov.
