Mn/DOT invites public to attend I-35W MnPASS lane extension open house in Burnsville
(Roseville, Minn.) – Minnesota residents, business owners and potential MnPASS subscribers are invited to an open house to learn more about the proposed I-35W MnPASS Express Lane expansion project in Burnsville that could begin as early as
this year.
If approved and funded, the project will extend the existing MnPASS lanes to include the portion of northbound I-35W between the I-35W/I-35E split and Burnsville Parkway, a distance of approximately two miles. All lanes would be open to traffic by 2012.
The open house will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 20 at Burnsville City Hall, 100 Civic Center Parkway. Anyone attending will be able to:
- Get project information and see the proposed layout, including noise wall and storm water treatment pond locations.
- Provide direct input and formal comments on the project, including noise walls and their locations. Mn/DOT engineers are particularly interested in receiving input on the proposed noise walls as the views of affected residents are a major consideration in determining whether or not noise walls will be constructed.
- Open a MnPASS account instantly, get a transponder and receive a free MnPASS gift pack.
Representatives from Mn/DOT, the city of Burnsville and MnPASS will be on hand to answer questions.
Individuals with a disability who need reasonable accommodations to participate may contact J.P. Gillach at 651-234-7503.
More project information is available for review on the Mn/DOT project website:
