Intermittent closures of Minnehaha Parkway and creek scheduled

Closures to continue through late December

Motorists will continue to encounter detours on Minnehaha Parkway at Interstate 35W through the end of December. Part of the Crosstown reconstruction project, the closures are needed as crews reconstruct northbound I-35W bridge spanning Minnehaha Parkway.

Minnehaha Creek itself will also be closed to water traffic during these parkway closures.

At least one pedestrian or bike path along Minnehaha Creek at I-35W will remain open. However, the path may be intermittently closed to safely conduct work.

Motorists should follow the posted detour route.

During the closures, access across I-35W will remain available at the 42nd Street bridge, 46th Street bridge, 50th Street bridge, Diamond Lake Road bridge, and the 60th Street underpass.

The bridge re-construction will not affect traffic on northbound I-35W.

For more information on the I-35W/Highway 62 Crosstown reconstruction project, visit www.mndot.gov or call the Crosstown Project hotline at 1-866-743-6590 or send an e-mail to crosstown@rranow.com.

Mn/DOT reminds motorists to slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones. For statewide traffic, construction and travel information visit www.511mn.org or call 511 or log onto www.mndot.gov.
