Mn/DOT continues to seek public input on Hwy 52 Lafayette Bridge replacement during monthly open houses
ROSEVILLE, Minn. - The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the public to learn about replacement plans for the Highway 52 Lafayette bridge during several opportunities this year.
Drop-in office hours are scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 17, from
4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the West Side Community Organization offices at 127 Winifred Street West (corner of Bidwell Street and Winifred Street) in St. Paul. Additional office hours are planned for subsequent months and will be announced soon.
The Lafayette Bridge, which spans the Mississippi River east of downtown St. Paul, is a steel plate girder structure that opened to traffic in 1968. Its replacement is currently scheduled to begin in 2011, with completion scheduled in 2013.
Individuals with a disability who need reasonable accommodations to participate should contact Kent Barnard at 651-234-7504. Hearing- or speech-impaired persons should contact the Minnesota Relay Service at 1-800-627-3529.
