Nighttime lane restrictions on northbound I-35W to start July 7

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Motorists will encounter nighttime lane restrictions on northbound I-35W between Burnsville Parkway and 98th Street beginning on Tuesday, July 7 and continuing through Friday, July 10. Traffic will be reduced to one lane from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly.

The work is part of the ongoing reconstruction of I-35W from Burnsville to downtown Minneapolis that is funded by the Urban Partnership Agreement. The UPA projects will improve traffic flow by reducing congestion on I-35W, Highway 77/Cedar Avenue and in downtown Minneapolis using transit, road pricing, technology and telecommuting.

The UPA is funded by $133.3 million in federal funds and $50.2 million in matching state funds.
