Southbound I- 35W closure scheduled July 10-13

 

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Motorists will encounter detours and possible increased congestion on metro area roadways starting at 10 p.m., Friday, July 10 when all lanes of southbound I-35W, from I-494 to Highway 13, close for the weekend.

 

All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m., Monday, July 13. The closure is needed for bridge repair and pavement work along I-35W.

 

In addition, the exit ramp from southbound I-35W to eastbound I-494 will be closed from 10 p.m., Friday, July 10 through 12 p.m., Saturday, July 11.

 

During this time, the following detour routes will be in place:

 

Detour for southbound I-35W and eastbound I-494
(10 p.m. July 10 – 12 p.m. July 11)
• West on I-494 to Highway 100 south
• South on Highway 100 to exit for eastbound I-494
• East on I-494 to Highway 77
• South on Highway 77 to Highway 13
• South on Highway 13 to I-35W

 

Detour for southbound I-35W (12 p.m. July 11 – 5 a.m. July 13)
• East on I-494 to Highway 77
• South on Highway 77 to Highway 13
• South on Highway 13 to I-35W

 

The UPA is funded by $133.3 million in federal funds and $50.2 million in matching state funds.
