Intermittent nightly closures at Eastern of I-35W/ Hwy 62 begin June 21
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Motorists likely will encounter detours and increased congestion beginning on Sunday, June 21, when both directions of I-35W, as well as westbound Hwy 62 close intermittently at the eastern junction of the interchange.
The closures will take effect nightly, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. and will continue through Friday, July 3.
Southbound I-35W and westbound Hwy 62 will not be closed at the same time.
Part of the I-35W/Hwy 62 Crosstown reconstruction project, the nighttime closures are needed as crews place bridge beam segments.
Access to local streets along I-35W, north and south of Hwy 62, will remain open. Eastbound Hwy 62 will remain open during the closures.
Motorists should follow the posted detours during the closures:
For northbound I-35W: Hwy 62 East to Portland Ave North to Hwy 62 West / I-35W North
For southbound I-35W: Hwy 62 East to Hwy 77 North/Cedar Ave to Hwy 62 West to I-35W South
For westbound Hwy 62: I -35W North to Diamond Lake Road to I-35W South to Hwy 62 West
