Placement of refurbished Luce Line Trail bridge planned this weekend in Long Lake
ROSEVILLE, Minn. - A refurbished bicycle/pedestrian bridge will be placed above old Hwy 12/Wayzata Boulevard at the east end of Long Lake and Orono this Saturday as part of the nearly complete Hwy 12 realignment project in the western Twin Cities Metro area. Wayzata Boulevard will close from 5:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday, May 2, while crews lift the historic bridge into place. The structure was removed from a different location and rehabilitated during an earlier construction stage on the new Hwy 12 alignment between Wayzata Boulevard and Hennepin County Road 6.
During the day-log closure, traffic will follow a signed detour using Old Long Lake Boulevard to reach Wayzata Boulevard.
The old Luce Line Trail bridge was removed and salvaged in late March.
