Public information meeting set for Oct. 21 to highlight Highway 280 traffic changes
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Future plans for Highway 280 through St. Paul, Lauderdale and Roseville, including the reconstruction next year of the interchange at Larpenteur Avenue, will be highlighted at a public open house on Tuesday, Oct. 21, in the St. Anthony Park neighborhood of St. Paul.
The open house is scheduled from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the St. Anthony Park Community Center, 890 Cromwell Ave. in St. Paul. Layouts and graphics illustrating traffic and construction impacts during work on Highway 280 and the Larpenteur Avenue bridge will be available. Representatives from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Ramsey County and the city of St. Paul will be in attendance to answer questions.
The highway corridor between Interstate 94 in St. Paul and I-35W and Highway 36 in Roseville was modified in response to increased congestion after the collapse of the I-35W Mississippi River bridge in 2007. Some of the changes made in response to the collapse will remain in place, including closure of some access to Highway 280.
Mn/DOT reminds motorists to slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones. For statewide traffic, construction and travel information visit www.511mn.org, call 5-1-1 or log on to www.mndot.gov.
