Emergency closure of Stillwater Lift Bridge due to electrical failure of lift mechanism
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — The Stillwater Lift Bridge was closed to traffic early afternoon today. The malfunction of the lift mechanism prevented the bridge from being lowered back into the down position after it was raised to allow boat traffic to pass. The Mn/DOT electrical crew is on the scene; however the bridge remains closed to motorists.
Motorists are encouraged to detour to Interstate 94 by Hudson, Wisconsin.
Mn/DOT reminds motorists to slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
