46th Street entrance ramp to southbound I-35W to close on Nov. 29

 

ROSEVILLE, Minn. — The 46th Street entrance ramp to southbound Interstate 35W in Minneapolis is scheduled to close on Thursday, Nov. 29 at approximately 8 p.m.

The demolition of the 46th Street bridge, previously scheduled for the weekend of Nov. 30, has been postponed until March or April of 2008. However, the 46th Street freeway ramps will close over the next few weeks, beginning with tonight’s closure of the entrance ramp to southbound I-35W.

The 46th Street exit ramp from northbound I-35W and entrance ramp to northbound I-35W will close approximately on Friday, Dec. 7. The 46th the exit ramp from southbound I-35W is scheduled to close approximately on Friday, Dec. 14. The 46th Street freeway ramps will be closed for two to three years.

Motorists should follow the posted detour routes

As the 46th Street freeway ramps close, the Diamond Lake Road freeway ramp that provides similar access will re-open. The Diamond Lake Road entrance ramp to southbound I-35W will re-open by Friday, Nov 30 at 6 a.m. However, the Diamond Lake Road bridge is still closed and scheduled to re-open on Friday, Dec. 7.
