Major delays expected for bridge demolition in
Unweave the Weave project area
beginning June 22
(Roseville, Minn.) - Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid major congestion and long delays through the I-35E/I-694 Unweave the Weave project in Little Canada and Vadnais Heights during the weekend of June 23 and 24. Removal of two bridges in the east end of the I-35E/I-694 commons section will require closure and detours of northbound I-35E and westbound I-694.
The roadways will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, June 22 until 5 a.m. Monday, June 25 for removal of the old westbound I-694 bridge over I-35E heading into the commons and the old southbound I-35E to eastbound I-694 bridge over northbound I-35E.
During the work, northbound I-35E traffic will detour east on I-694 to Hwy 61 and back onto westbound I-694 to northbound I-35E. Westbound
I-694 traffic will detour south on Highway 61 to Hwy. 36 and back north on
I-35E.
