Minn. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) will begin work on the Highway 169 new Interchange in Belle Plaine between Highway 25 and County Road 64 on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
Highway 169 will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Old Highway 169 to the north and Linden Street to the south. Traffic will be on existing northbound lanes from Fall of 2005 to the summer of 2006 and newly reconstructed southbound lanes from summer of 2006 to the spring of 2007. The Main Street crossing Highway 169 will be closed during construction.
The existing traffic signal at Laredo will be permanently removed at the beginning of construction and a temporary signal will be installed at County Road 3. The temporary signal at County Road 3 will be removed upon completion of the new interchange.
Medians will be permanently closed at Laredo, Walnut and South Streets.
Weather permitting, work will be completed and open to all traffic in the summer of 2007.
