(Roseville, Minn.) — Restriping of Highway 169 between 36 th Street and Londonderry Road through the cities of St. Louis Park, Hopkins, Edina and Minnetonka begins Sunday evening, July 31. Crews will work from 10 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning, Sunday night through Friday morning. During the work, motorists will encounter overnight lane closures, ramp closures and single lane traffic on north and southbound Highway 169 throughout the next two weeks.
Crews will grind off the old latex paint lane markings and restripe the roadway with more durable and longer-lasting epoxy paint. The new epoxy paint lasts between five and eight years and saves time and money compared with latex paint, which lasts between one and two years.
Weather permitting, work on Highway 169 will be finished by mid-August.
Mn/DOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN in the work zone and NEVER enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones. Please join us in a safety partnership. For statewide traffic, construction and travel information visit www.511mn.org or call 511.
