News Release

Roseville, Minn.— The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) will close Interstate 494 in both directions between Highway 62 and Interstate 394 beginning Friday, July 29, at 10 p.m. It will remain closed until 5 a.m. Monday, August 1. The closure is necessary so that construction crews can set girders for the new Excelsior and Highway 7 bridges and do paving work at several locations along I-494.

All southbound I-494 traffic will be detoured east on I-394 to Highway 169, south to Highway 62 and then west to I-494. Northbound I-494 traffic will be detoured east at Highway 62, north on Highway 169 to I-394 and then west to I-494. (see detour map below)
