Minn. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) plans to switch Highway 61 northbound traffic to the new Hwy. 61 northbound roadway in the area between Carver Ave. and I-494 late in the day on Friday, July 15, 2005. Southbound Hwy. 61 traffic will continue on its present roadway.
The remaining access at the Carver Ave. /Hwy. 61 intersection will be closed with this traffic switch. Northbound Hwy. 61 traffic to Carver Ave. will be detoured to Lower Afton Rd. Carver Ave. traffic heading north on Hwy. 61 will be shifted to a temporary ramp off of Point Douglas Rd. , which is the east frontage road.
In addition, lane closures will continue on southbound Hwy. 61 from 5:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on northbound Hwy. 61 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes if possible. Mn/DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution in the construction zone.
