Roseville,
Minn. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) announced today that the Stillwater Lift Bridge is in need of emergency cable repair of both the downhaul and uphaul lift mechanism. Early morning attempts on Tuesday, June 21, to raise and lower the bridge indicated broken cables. The bridge will remain in the down position until the cable is replaced.
The cable replacement is expected to be completed by Wednesday, June 22 and the bridge will then be able to resume normal operation.
Boat traffic, both north and south of the bridge is advised that they will not be able to travel under the bridge until the cable is replaced.
