(Roseville, Minn.) — The Bollum Lane and May Street underpasses will permanently close at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20, as reconstruction continues on the Highway 12 bypass in Long Lake. The permanent closures are needed to allow for realignment of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad tracks on the south side of the new Highway 12 alignment.

Once the underpasses are closed, Highway 12 traffic will use Willow Drive to access the neighborhoods south of Highway 12.

Realignment of Highway 12 from Wayzata Boulevard in Wayzata through Orono to Hennepin County Road 6 in Long Lake will direct through-traffic and large trucks on a bypass around downtown Long Lake. This will allow the city of Long Lake to reclaim its downtown business district.

After the bypass is complete, existing Highway 12 will become a Hennepin County roadway.
