(Roseville, Minn.) — Replacement of a box culvert beneath Interstate 35W begins Monday, May 23, between Lexington Avenue and 95 th Avenue in Blaine. Traffic will be restricted to a single lane of traffic on both sides of the interstate after morning rush hour on Monday as crews prepare to move traffic onto two lanes in each direction on the northbound side of the road.
Once the culvert is installed beneath the southbound lanes of I-35W, traffic will switch to two lanes of traffic on the southbound side of the interstate in early June.
The project began last fall with the construction of crossover lanes in the I-35W median within the project area to prepare for work this spring.
Weather permitting, the project will be completed by the end of June.
Mn/DOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN in the work zone and NEVER enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones. Please join us in a safety partnership. For statewide traffic, construction and travel information visit www.511mn.org or call 511.
