Highway 61 Mississippi River bridge inspection begins May 16; lane closures expected

Roseville, Minn.— The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) will begin inspecting the Highway 61 bridge spanning the Mississippi River in HASTINGS between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day, Monday, May 16 through Friday, May 20, 2005. The inspection will begin on the northbound side of the bridge and will move to the southbound side. One lane of traffic will be closed on the bridge during inspection hours. Flaggers will direct traffic across the bridge during the inspection. Motorists are advised to allow extra time and may experience delays. Mn/DOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN in the work zone and NEVER enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones. Please join us in a safety partnership.
