(Roseville, Minn.)---The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) will begin construction on Hwy. 62 between Portland Ave. and Highway 55 (Hiawatha Ave.) on May 16. In addition, eastbound Hwy. 62 will be completely closed from 7 p.m. on May 20 through 5 a.m. on May 23 and westbound Hwy 62 will be completely closed from Friday, June 3 at 7 p.m. through 5 a.m. Monday, June 6. Motorists can also expect additional lane closures both eastbound and westbound during the construction period.

Motorists will be detoured around the construction zone on Interstate 35-W, Interstate 494 and Highway 55 during the weekend closures of Hwy. 62.

The construction will include bus shoulder construction, median replacement and concrete and asphalt roadway surface repair. The bridges over Hwy 62 in this area will also be repaired during the road closures. Motorists are advised to watch for advanced warning signs regarding the project.

The project will begin May 16 and conclude July 22 weather permitting.
