Minn. Motorists will encounter temporary full closures of 15 to 20 minutes beginning tonight on the westbound lanes in the Interstate 35E/694 commons during work on the new Edgerton Street bridge. Crews will begin placing steel bridge beams over the westbound side of the interstate each night between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. tonight, Thursday night, Sunday night and Monday night.
Once all beams are placed over the westbound interstate, work will switch to the eastbound side of the interstate and the eastbound lanes will be closed for up to 20 minutes between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night, Tuesday, November 2 through Thursday, November 4. If needed, work will continue the following week on the same schedule.
The new Edgerton Street bridge spans the I-35E/694 commons between Little Canada and Vadnais Heights . The bridge reconstruction is part of four-year Unweave the Weave project to rebuild I-35E and I-694 along with the two interstates common section through the two cities. Completion of the bridge is slated for June, 2005.
