Roseville, Minn.—Construction of a center pier for the new American Boulevard Bridge will begin this week and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) will set up a work zone on Monday, October 4 at 10 p.m. on I-35W in Bloomington. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction between I-494 and 82nd Street . There will also be a brief closure of the 82nd St. on-ramp to northbound I-35W and the off-ramp to east I-494. The construction work requiring these lane closures will be completed by 6a.m. Tuesday morning.

In addition, Tuesday, October 5 at 6 a.m. the following work zone lane closures will be in effect and will remain in effect for eight weeks or until April 2005 (if we have normal November temperatures). Final asphalt paving work cannot be completed after November 1. In this event, final paving will be done in April 2005.

Southbound I-35-W: The HOV lane will be closed from 66th St. to 82nd St. Two through lanes will remain open.

Northbound I-35W: The left lane from 82nd St. to I-494 will be closed. Three through lanes will remain open. One lane will remain exit only for I-494.
