Roseville, Minn.— Reconstruction of Interstate 94 between McKnight Road and Highway 120 in Ramsey and Washington Counties begins Monday, October 4. The project, that will add a third lane in each direction on Interstate 94, will begin with widening of the interstate bridge spanning McKnight Road

During work to build additional piers at McKnight Rd., the loop from eastbound I-94 to northbound McKnight Rd. will close and McKnight Road traffic will be restricted to a single lane on the northbound side of the road until early November. Traffic will follow a signed detour to Highway 120 and along Hudson Ave. back to McKnight Rd. Motorists should also watch for occasional non-peak closures of McKnight Road as crews move a crane used to drive piling for the new bridge piers.

Work will begin Monday, October 11th, to build additional piers at Highway 120 and be completed by Wednesday, November 24th.

Lane drops in this area cause a significant bottleneck for the nearly 100,000 vehicles using this stretch of the interstate each day.

Road work begins on mainline I-94 next spring with completion by the fall of 2005.
