Roseville, Minn.— Minnesota Department of Transportation maintenance crews will make repairs and inspect the anti-icing system tonight on the Interstate 35W Mississippi River bridge near downtown Minneapolis. Beginning at 9:30 p.m. this evening, motorists should watch for lane closures on both north and southbound I-35W between Washington Avenue and University Avenue.

The left three lanes in both directions will be closed throughout the night until 5 a.m. Friday morning.

The closures are needed so workers can repair a bridge panel in the northbound lanes and conduct the annual fall inspection of the I-35W bridge anti-icing system. This inspection involves checking and cleaning (as needed) all spray disks and nozzles and several of the valve units in the anti-icing system.
