Minn. The Edgerton Street bridge over the Interstate 35E/694 commons in Vadnais Heights will close around 8 p.m., Tonight as crews begin moving equipment into the area to begin removal of the southbound end of the bridge deck on Thursday night. Beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday night, July 8, eastbound traffic through the I-35E/694 commons will be restricted to two lanes as crews begin removing the bridge deck from the south end of the structure. At 10 p.m., eastbound traffic will be further reduced to a single lane until 5 a.m. Friday morning.
As work continues Friday night, north and southbound I-35E traffic through the commons will be restricted to a single lane at 8 p.m. At 10 p.m. Friday night, I-694 will close to all traffic through the commons area. All traffic restrictions will continue until 5 a.m. Monday, July 12. I-694 Motorists will be directed on a signed detour using I-35E, Highway 36 and Highway 61.
The following traffic movements will be prohibited and detoured this weekend:

During reconstruction of the bridge, traffic will use a signed detour on Ramsey County Road E, Labore Road and Centerville Road. Completion of the new Edgerton Street bridge is currently planned for the spring of 2005.
