Roseville,
Minn. Installation of a new traffic signal at the intersection of Snelling Avenue (Highway 51) and Lydia Avenue near the entrance to Northwestern College in Roseville begins Wednesday, July 7. The new signal system replaces a much older system and the new signals will allow motorists to continue to make left-hand turns from eastbound Lydia Ave. to northbound Snelling Ave. even after the protected left turn arrow is finished. Currently motorists may only make a left-hand turn from Lydia Ave. on a green arrow. Once the new lights are installed, their timing will be adjusted for traffic flow.
Motorists will encounter occasional weekday off-peak lane closures through the intersection as crews work from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Weather permitting, the project will be completed by August 19, before the start of the Minnesota State Fair
