Interstate 494 Bridge Work Schedule

Roseville, Minn.— Motorists will encounter temporary overnight lane closures early this week during the start of repairs and redecking of five bridges along Interstate 494 in Plymouth and Maple Grove. Four of the bridges carry north and southbound I-494 traffic over 49th Ave. and the Northern Canadian Pacific Railroad tracks. The fifth bridge carries northbound I-494 over I-94 in the junction of I-494 and I-94/694 (Fish Lake Interchange).

Weather permitting, the overnight lane restrictions are scheduled each night, Monday night through Thursday morning from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. between Rockford Road (County Road 9) and Bass Lake Road (County Road 10) on the following schedule:

  • Single lane of traffic on the northbound interstate Monday night;
  • Single lane of traffic on the southbound interstate Tuesday night; and
  • Single lane of traffic on both sides of the interstate Wednesday night.

Beginning next week, traffic will be restricted to a single lane on the northbound interstate until mid-June. In early June, work will start on the southbound lanes and continue through the end of June. For a two week period in the end of June, motorists will encounter single lane traffic on both sides of the interstate.

Weather permitting, work will be completed before the July 4 holiday weekend.

Mn/DOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN in the work zone and NEVER enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones. Please join us in a safety partnership. For statewide traffic, construction and travel information visit www.511mn.org or call 511.
