Lane Closures Continue During I-94 Construction

Roseville, Minn.— The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) will move the lane closures that have been in place on eastbound I-94 from the outside to the inside median lanes. Traffic will continue to be maintained on two lanes. These lane closures will continue for approximately three additional weeks.

The lane closures on westbound I-94 from Wash. Co. Rd. 21 (Stagecoach Trail) to the St. Croix Bridge will continue for approximately six additional weeks. The lane closures are part of a larger construction project on I-94 in the Twin Cities east metro that extends from I-694 east to the St. Croix Bridge at Hudson.

Also, road work will begin on I-94 between Mounds Blvd. and McKnight Rd. starting the weekend of May 22 when traffic will be restricted to one lane. Additional resurfacing on this stretch of I-94 will occur on the weekends of June 4, June 11 and June 18 when traffic will also be restricted to one lane. Traffic will be restricted to a single lane on I-94 only during the weekends mentioned.

In addition, motorists will see lane closures for concrete rehab work and storm sewer work between Mounds Blvd. and McKnight Rd. beginning May 23. However two lanes in each direction on I-94 will remain open at all times during the week. The lane closures will continue in this section of I-94 until work is completed July 1, weather permitting.
