Highway 61/Wakota Project Construction Update

• Westbound I-494 to southbound Highway 61 will be closed for reconstruction beginning March 29, 2004 and reopen fall 2005. The signed detour will direct motorists to exit at Concord St., then reenter eastbound I-494 and proceed to the southbound Highway 61 exit.
• Southbound Highway 61 to westbound I-494 ramp will be closed for reconstruction on March 29, 2004 and reopening in fall 2005. The signed detour will direct motorists to turn right at 20th St., follow 21st St. to Maxwell Ave. then proceed onto the westbound I-494 ramp.
• A short term ramp closure will occur on the northbound Highway 61 to eastbound I-494 ramp, from 7 p.m. Tuesday March 30 to 5 a.m. Wednesday March 31. The closure is necessary for adjusting the pavement striping on the ramp.
