Roseville,
Minn.Inclement weather has delayed plans to switch eastbound
Interstate 94/694 traffic onto a bypass as reconstruction continues
on the interstate between Hennepin County Road 81 and Highway
169 in Brooklyn Park. Wet pavement has prevented crews from restriping
the roadway to direct traffic through the bypass.
The
traffic switch has been rescheduled to happen between 9 p.m. Monday,
November 3 and 5 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, weather permitting.
(It was originally planned for overnight Monday, October 27).
At
the same time, traffic also will be switched to bypass ramps and
loops at Highway 169 and Boone Ave. And due to a grade difference
caused by the temporary bypass, the ramp from northbound Highway
169 to eastbound I-94/694 will be closed for three to four weeks
during the project. If weather conditions are not suitable, the
traffic switch will again be delayed.
Weather
permitting, work on the ramp from northbound Highway 169 to eastbound
I-94/694 will be completed and traffic will be switched back onto
the new bypass ramp by early December. Traffic will continue using
the mainline bypass throughout the winter.
NOTE:
The ramp from Boone Ave. to eastbound I-94 remains closed. It
was closed on October 21 for construction of a new storm sewer
system, but is expected to reopen by early next week.
Mn/DOT
