Four New Traffic Management
Cameras to be Installed

Roseville, Minn.—The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) will begin installing new traffic management cameras at four locations on Monday, Oct. 6.

Motorists are advised to watch for possible non-rush hour shoulder closures near the following locations where the cameras will be installed:

  • I-494 at Portland Ave. in BLOOMINGTON
  • I-94 at Nicollet Ave. in MINNEAPOLIS
  • I-35W at Stinson Blvd. in MINNEAPOLIS
  • I-35E at County Rd. B in MAPLEWOOD

A total of approximately 260 cameras will be located throughout the Twin Cities Metro Area's freeway system when the project is completed. The cameras are operated using fiber optic cable, and video from each is shared with the Minnesota State Patrol, Mn/DOT's Metro District Maintenance Operations, Metro Transit, various metro cities and counties and all local television stations.

Weather permitting, the project will be completed by Oct. 24.

Mn/DOT urges motorists always to drive with caution and reminds them to SLOW DOWN in work zones and NEVER enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones. For updated statewide traffic, construction and travel information visit www.511mn.org.
